BRENTWOOD, Tenn., Aug. 20, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Tractor Supply Company stores nationwide are hosting pet adoptions, a pet supplies drive and more on Saturday, Aug. 25 as part of Out Here With Animals, a monthlong event celebrating animals of all kinds and the people who care for them.
Tractor Supply's Out Here With Animals
On Aug. 25, customers and their dogs, cats, pigs, goats and more are invited to make their way to their local Tractor Supply to support pet adoptions in their community.
Throughout the month of August, customers can show their support of their local animal community by participating in Tractor Supply’s pet supplies drive. The rural lifestyle retailer is accepting new sealed food, toys, cleaning supplies and other essential pet accessories such as beds, scratching posts, leashes and bowls to be donated to nearby rescues and shelters. Customers can bring in previously purchased new items for the supplies drive, or buy items in-store at special prices all month to donate.
“We believe every animal deserves a loving home, and with the help of our generous customers we can work toward this goal together,” said Karl Olsen, vice president and divisional merchandise manager at Tractor Supply. “Out Here With Animals is one part of our ongoing efforts to support local animal groups by providing them with the resources they need to maintain and grow so pets of all kinds have the lives they deserve.”
The Aug. 25 festivities will also feature the culmination of Tractor Supply’s fan-favorite Rescue Your Rescue contest, which allows customers to nominate their favorite shelter by submitting a photo and brief statement of why it deserves a financial boost. Tractor Supply will award a total of $25,000 in grants to the top ten finalists on Aug. 25 at their local Tractor Supply store. The grand prize winner, Humane Society of Imperial County of El Centro, Calif., was selected by the public to receive the $10,000 grand prize.
In 2017, Arkabutla Rescue Rehabilitation and Foster of Tunica, Miss., won the $10,000 grand prize. Pat Hissong, the nonprofit’s founder, said the contest allowed the organization to upgrade its facility and relocate from Arkabutla, Miss., to Tunica, Miss., which would not have been possible without the Tractor Supply grant money.
Along with events that celebrate and support local animal communities, Out Here With Animals features a sale on premium products for pets, small animals and livestock, including items necessary for their health, care, growth and containment. Wednesday, Aug. 22 through Sunday, Aug. 26, customers—and their animals—can enjoy deals on premium brands like Purina Feed, Blue Buffalo, Wholesomes, 4health and more.
Out Here With Animals events are open to the public and leashed, friendly animals. Contact your local Tractor Supply store, which you can find at www.TractorSupply.com/StoreLocator, for more details.
