Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reportedly agreed to U.S. President Donald Trump’s peace proposal that makes Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and the Jerusalem suburb, better known as Abu Dis as the capital of the future state of Palestine. The possibility of Abu Dis being the capital of Palestine has been circulating in the U.S. and Middle East Media for quitMedia months now, but this is the first time a political Party (Yesh Atid) of Israel raised such possibility. According to Yair Lapid, chairman of the Yesh Atid (political party founded by former journalist Yair Lapid in 2012), Washington will be presenting its peace proposal next month with Abu Dis being the capital of Palestine.
While it is being reported that the proposal will be accepted by Prime Minister Netanyahu, it is not clear, whether Palestinian National Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas will accept the proposal or not since he rejected communicating with the United States as a peace mediator and rejects Washington to be the sole mediator in the process as president Trump unilaterally recognized Jerusalem as the capital in December and moved the Israeli embassy from Tel Aviv Jerusalem earlier this month.
Despite several leaks in the media, the terms of the actual proposal is still not known to anyone other than the people involved in the process at the White House.© FxWire Pro 2018.
